Appearance

Garrick stands at a rather tall height of 6'3 and weight 225 lbs., looking entirely human. A former special ops soldier, Garrick is casually clad in a pair of army fatigue pants, a black short sleeve t-shirt, and a leather bombers jacket. His hair used to be cut short, but he's since let it grow out a bit and lets it hang free around his face, his blue eyes standing out.

In the old days, Garrick used to go into combat with his H.E.X.S. armor, a huge hulking suit of armor that resembled Metal's armor, save for the fact that it was not as heavy and had a green tint to it. However, after having scrapped the armor for parts in his journey back from Nintendus, Garrick went into combat in his normal clothing save for a comm line to Nova in his right ear with a modified eye piece to relay him Dex information, his gun straps underneath his jacket, housing his M-150, P-90, the Last Request, and extra clips, and the Burning Chill strapped to the back of his belt.

Now, with the use of a Smash Emblem, Garrick has taken on the full form of what he was truly all along. He wears a sleeker, more streamlined version of the H.E.X.S. armor, completely colored white and addorned with powerful thruster jets which let him blast forward in bursts of speed. A blue bandana holds his hair from his matching eyes, and his newly created magitek weapons are held on his belt.

History

Garrick Fy'aar has been with the Questers for years now, ranking up there as one of the 'newer' old guys. He started his term with the Questers around Season 2, joining up with Yurie and Razor in their humble beginnings. Since then, Garrick has been in, out, around, and against the Questers at various times. He started as a normal member in Season 2 and 3, becoming more of a journeyman upon his discovery of Nova in the later seasons of Book 0.

With the help of Nova, Garrick started to create a sort of secondary base for the Questers. An emergency fall out shelter, but as it turned out, it wasn't entirely needed. So, instead, Garrick used the incredible knowledge of Nova and it's database to become as techno savvy as he possibly could. This led to the creation of a few very important devices: The Mark 5 Dex, the M-150, and Garrick's own ship, the Dauntless. Garrick later created the Burning Chill to combat the recent uprising of magical focused enemies. He did this with one of the special abilities that he learned in his travels: The Creation of Magitek. Stumbling upon a legendary book from the Solarians, Garrick has mastered the ability to create Magitek and had been one of the very few that can successfully create it.

After several years of fighting various evil foes with this power, it was revealed that it was simply an illusion created by the Void. Something like this struck a blow to Garrick, and without the curious power to strengthen him, he was left weak and vulnerable to most of the enemies they faced as the Void drew closer to ending their world. However, with the help of Master Hand and one of the mysterious Smash Emblems, he unlocked the power inside of him and fully became what he should be: A dangerous, noble Quester who's only goal is to help those in need.

Vehicles

The Dauntless: During Garrick's time at Nova's base in the Magnetic Wasteland, he was able to work on several things. Weapons and items and his armor, but one of the most specific things that he worked on was plans for a specific ship that he wanted to build. However, during Kuja's attack on the base, both he and Metal were forced to randomly pull different ship parts to build the ship haphazardly. The ship was named the Dauntless soon after, but was never what Garrick fully envisioned. Now, over time and with new resources, Garrick has been able to build the Dauntless as it truly is. A fantastic ship with multiple capabilities that can rival any ship out there.

Weapons: 1 Super MAC gun (Three rounds remaining), 4 plasma torpedo launchers, 16 missile bays with 60 missiles each, 8 photon cannons, 20 nuclear space mines.

Engines: Stop: Position Keeping Jets
Slow: Short Range Chemical Thrusters
Fast: Core powered impulse drive
Very Fast: Warp drive (Top speed: Warp 5)
Ludicrous Speed: Slipstream Engine
NOTE: The Slipstream Engine allows almost instantaneous travel of very large distances. However, the power usage on this is incredibly high. The use of it causes all power to shut down save for emergency power to life support. Power can be reestablished, but it takes Garrick 24 hours alone to do so.

Shields: Multi-Phasic energy shields. Defends against both physical, energy, and magic attacks. Weak against quantum style weapons and phazon.

Armor: Mild titanium armor protects against most physical blows, but energy and magic can burn through it. Best to get moving if it drops to this.

Reactor: Combination cold fusion/magitek heated reactor. Uses both the heat of the magitek and the cold of the fusion to balance temperature output out at 60 degrees F. Power output is high, but fluctuations of the reactor could cause damage. Cold fusion is easy to repair and can be done in as little time as a day, though magitek requires a great deal of work to fix. Reactor also excepts solar, kinetic, and plasma energy if small amounts are needed.

Miscellaneous:
-The Operating System for the Dauntless is Nova. Garrick has a comm link via headset at all times with Nova and the Dauntless.
-The Dauntless can comfortably seat 15 people, and can hold several tons of cargo.
-Accepts commands from Garrick primarily, Quester leaders secondly, and added new members thirdly.
-The Reactor is able to be ejected if a critical problem occurs.
-The ship holds crew quarters, mess hall, engine room, captain's quarters and lab, a small gym, and storage bays.

Parry: Use an attack for double TP to parry an enemies attack. Once per round.
Team Attack: Once per battle, team up with an ally to do a more powerful attack; the details depending on the combo and levels; both people must have this ability to get the boosted damage; otherwise you can do a lesser version on your own.
Quick Revive: Revive with half the TP right after you die.
Aggressive Attack: Add +5 to hit (Cannot exceed +20 total) and +5 to damage; AC is halved until next turn. You cannot use it on more than one attack per turn, and you cannot use it consecutively with two attacks, even if several turns are between them. You cannot use it two turns in a row either.
Jump Attack: Adds a single glide jump to a move of your choice, at the cost of adding an extra TP to using the attack. The move now involves jumping up 1 unit as you move 2 units towards them. Allows otherwise out-of-range attacks to hit further-away enemies.
Defend: Increase AC by 4; eats 2 TP. Lasts until next round. Cannot attack until next round when this is used. (Best used near end of turn.) Cannot be stacked.
tem Sacrifice: Sacrifices all the items of one type (and all its copies) from your inventory to take a hit for you; be careful. Grenades will explode on both you and your opponent. Takes 1 TP to set up, must be set up before the end of your round, and re-set-up at the end of every round if you wish to keep the 'protection.' 50,000 coins can also be used in a pinch.

Unique abilities

Unique Ability 1: Techno Wizard: Garrick is a technical genius, having worked side by side with one of the greatest computers on Nintendus, the original Nova, and with the genius Dr. Light himself. With all this, Garrick is a master of technology, ranging from simple blacksmithing to ship design to high tech weaponry. From magitek to lighttech to full on robotics, Garrick can do just about everything.

EFFECT: Garrick can build and create all sorts of stuff. There are three tiers of things he can create. Coins are used for technology, EXP for magic. Roll is d20+3

1: Cheap. This does quick stuff like modifying doors to explode and making people's stuff break, or perhaps simple things like making a door hinge. 100 coins.

2: Normal. This creates an average item, better than what's normally available. 10,000 coins.

3: Expensive. Guarantees a decent result; allows for more abnormal things and inventing new technology with high rolls.. 100,000 coins.

Unique Ability 2: I WILL NOT BACK DOWN!: Garrick has been around for a very, very long time. Ever since Metal has taken over command of the Questers. This being said, he's done a great deal of things. He's punched Smithy, blasted The Void, cut Kuja, and given his lifeblood to defeat even stronger foes. Thanks to all this, he is extremely determined and will not back down for ANY fight, even in the face of pure and total destruction.

EFFECT: Garrick is immune to effects, abilities, or powers that make him stop fighting. In turn, there is a 50% (1-50) chance that forced teleportation fails.
