Appearance

History

Not much is known of his pre-Quester past, seeing as he was an average High Schooler who loved the occasional friendly spar.

He appeared relatively late on the scene, at least, for his generation of Questers. His first appearance was at Zora's Domain, during the time preceding the fall of the Quester Hunters. He was there, helping the Questers fight an evil monster created by one of the many item combiners; but it split in two, and, alas, one of them posessed him, making him kill Aribar with a Stone Drop. It was only until that tree lost its limbs that John reverted to normal.

He appeared again, on the next mission, too; it was his misfortune that, while helping the Questers through their weird Worms related mission, he encountered yet another item combiner; but he aided them in that fight without a problem. Afterwards, he appeared one last time, apparently to aid the Questers in their mission against the Shysters; one of the first missions in which he used his trademark hammer.

Much time passed since then; the figure of John vanished mysteriously, before he could possibly have been killed by Kuja in the aftermath of the Quester Hunters. Indeed, for an unknown reason, he vanished for a few months. He lost his Quester status during that time, but that did not stop him from appearing just before Smithy activated his doomsday device; he helped the Questers negotiate with E Li Three in order to get the Deathmachine, so that they could defend themselves from an evil Charles.

He appeared once more, in a cloaked MTA, and aided in a battle where Locos and Deloth fought Ruvyn. He followed Deloth down to the surface, and gave Mewtwo a briefing on the situation, before then vanishing... he mentioned something about a 'Dark Eye.' This was the beginning of an assumed madness.

...Later on, he appeared during a skirmish inside one of Grunty's many grocery stores. Aribar was fighting to the death, but, between a ghostly John shoving a light fixture onto Doopliss' head, Garrick's speech, and an appearance of Charles, Aribar was saved. Doopliss, however, continued to be a plague.

And since this he vanished entirely. All that is known is the following: He may have traveled through alternate dimensions, and thus, another reality. Somewhere in this he became totally insane, and faded away to nothing... after apparently having been killed by one of Kuja's men, once Kuja had taken over Nintendus. He then pulled himself together out of nothing, and watched the Questers some more, before eventually reappearing after Kuja's defeat, as the Questers fought a strange Ganondorf's forces.

Here he had his current form; a ghostly, undead Quester. He also had his gems. He wasted no time in blasting away some of Ganondorf's Stalchildren and attacked Ganondorf, but nobody could understand him. He further helped them in fighting Nadra Liah, who at the time was on an annoying Mages Council mission of some sort. He also aided the Questers in a mission to investigate the ruins of the Neo-Earthian lab, and afterwards received his own dex, allowing him to talk. It was soon revealed he was, indeed, John.

Then he helped them fight Ruvyn in the Phoenix Group's base, and helped fight the Mages Council again, this time over a Time Stone. And again he helped, or tried to, when the Questers got into trouble against Bowser, Ganondorf, and some sort of weird will. Which, having turned out to be the IIF, caused him to get drunk and take out several agents as the Questers eventually fixed that situation. He later noted to the Questers his confusion as to how he became ethereal; thus it is unknown to him as well as this document.

He also helped fight Robotnik during his first attack, revealed his grave plot in the Quester graveyard, helped fight Metroid Rathos when he attacked again, fought Dark Tingle, fought some weird Eldorado apparition, got somewhere in the CAL, and also saw Ruvyn when he was killed by Sephiroth. In fact, he's done tons and tons of fighting since then, and it never does seem to end... but will we ever find out how he became the way he is?
